TKF, a technologically leading supplier of connectivity solutions and part of TKH Group N.V, has signed a Preferred Supply Agreement for the Gennaker offshore wind farm with Skyborn Renewables (“Skyborn”) in a consortium with Boskalis. TKF is responsible for the supply and installation of approximately 140 km of inter-array cables, including the engineering, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of the cables and corresponding accessories.
With a capacity up to 976,6 MW, Gennaker is to become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea to date. Located approximately 15 kilometers north of the Fischland-Darb-Zingst peninsula, the project area sits within a designated priority zone for offshore wind energy in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania coastal sea. Skyborn secured the initial building permit for the Gennaker site in May 2019 and maintains site exclusively for development. Gennaker is planned to be commissioned in 2028.
